    Description

This one covers all bases:  Eight-page program for the dedication of the Paul Robeson Campus Center Addition at Rutgers-Newark, signed on the cover by Newark's own, Sarah Vaughan and her then-husband, trumpeter Waymon Read. The five-day program for Paul Robeson Week in Newark, declared by Mayor Kenneth A. Gibson, included muiscal entertainment by Sarah and the Waymon Read Trio;  Woody Shaw, another Newark jazz great, pianist Mary Lou Williams and the Gene Phipps Jazz Group. Participants also included  Newark playwright Richard Wesley, artist Ben Jones, poet Betty Neals and the Elmwoord Presbyterian Church Children's Choir, directed by Jean James. During the week,  two paintings and a bust of Robeson were unveiled.
One of Sarah's rare autographs signed at an event in her hometown.  Near mint! Good buy!
